Isaac Reynolds
Isaac was playing his favorite sport soccer and accidentally got hit in the stomach. The next day, his stomach hurt and continued to get worse. After going to urgent care and the ER, they sent him to Children’s Mercy, where him and his family were met by an oncologist.
Isaac was diagnosed with a cancer of the kidney, or Wilms tumor. It had to be removed as soon as possible. They removed his kidney, and a tumor five times its size, and part of his bowel. Soon after, he began radiation, and then started chemotherapy. There have been many adjustments to the treatment plan, a couple extra surgeries, and several hospital stays, but Isaac continues to be his glowing, cheerful self. He loves playing superheroes especially, and is still holding out hope that something in this process will give him superpowers!
